Mike Johnson from PWInsider Elite has noted that AJ Styles has not yet re-signed a contract with WWE which is up around April this year.
“Last I heard AJ’s deal is up sometime in April. I have not heard that they have come to terms on a new contract. That doesn’t mean that they won’t. That doesn’t mean that they will either.”
This is not to say that he won't re-sign but its not a clear indication that he will re-sign with WWE.
Reported back in 2018, AJ wanted a more relaxed schedule, similar to Randy Orton's schedule, which would still allow The Phenomenal One to appear on TV but with a reduced number of live appearances, allowing AJ to spend more time at home with his family. It was also rumored that was the reason Daniel Bryan won the WWE Championship from him, as he had little time to spend with his wife and children. It seems however the two are unable to come to terms with a suitable contract.
With the extremely high level AJ performs at, you never know where he will end up. Given there are many lucrative options at hand with NJPW, Impact, and WWE, AJ Styles like many free agents has their pick of where to go next.
And he also just happens to have some friends who have recently started their own wrestling company.
Whereever AJ choses to go, one thing is for certain, He will be phenomenal!
